Our Team

The Al Murabit Security Services management team are the backbone of the organisation, providing critical management support and leadership to our personnel deployed to support client operations throughout Iraq.

Al Murabit has a strong and growing portfolio of live contracts through its flexibility, adaptability, responsiveness and best in class, international levels of professional security.

Prior to working in the security industry, Richard served in the British Armed Forces where he deployed to multiple operational theatres. Since joining Al-Murabit over ten years ago, Richard has held several senior positions and is now the Managing Director and responsible for the strategic direction of the company.

Firas Kamal Waly, General Manager

Firas graduated from the Technology University as a Mechanical engineer, before later serving as an officer at the Iraqi Army. After retirement from the Iraqi Army, he transitioned into the private sector, being employed within a position at ZainTelecom Company as the Manager of the assets Tracking department. He later moved to Al-Murabit Security Services as General Manager, where he is responsible for insuring Al Murabit follow the MOI procedures and regulations.

Amer Mahmoud, General Manager

Amer Mahmoud, a graduate of Iraqi AirForce Academy in 1976 and served as an officer at the Iraqi Air Force. He served for more than 30 years in the Iraqi Air Force at different air bases and headquarters of the IraqiAirForce. Amer retired after reaching the rank of Brigadier-General. Amer is the General Management Consultant for Al Murabit Security Services, where he is responsible for ensuring Al Murabit follow the GOI and MOI procedures and regulations.

Ray McFarlane, QHSE Director

After serving in the British military, Ray spent 12 years working in the UK specialising in Property and Asset Management, responsible for large portfolios of high-value mixed-use developments. Reporting to the Managing Director, Ray has responsibility for the overall strategic management and control of the company’s Health, Safety & Environmental programmes across the company. Ray employs an ethical approach to QHSE management, conveying and ensuring active workforce participation, compliance and motivation.

Jonathan Ireland, Regional Director

Prior to joining the private security industry, Jonathan served in the 1st Battalion Parachute Regiment, deploying to multiple operational theatres. In 2017, Jonathan joined Al Murabit Security Services, quickly working his way from a Team Leader to the Regional Operations Manager and then the Country Operations Manager. In 2019 he was promoted to become one of the Regional Directors responsible for the operational delivery of Al Murabit Security Services contracts in Southern Iraq.

Craig Lowden, Country Operations Manager

Craig served for eight years in the British Military (Kings Own Royal Border Regiment) before transitioning into the private security industry in 2008. Craig has worked for Al Murabit Security Services since July 2017 and has been employed within several operational roles before being promoted to Country Operations Manager in 2018.

Chris Wilkins, Operations Manager

Chris has been working in the security industry since 2014 brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge that he uses to guide, mentor and advise the employees that he manages and oversees. As the Operations Manager, Chris reports directly to the Regional Director and is responsible for the day-to-day operational oversite of all projects within Southern Iraq.

Paul Woodly, Training Manager

Paul served for 25 years in the British Armed Forces (Grenadier Guards). On leaving the Armed Forces, Paul transitioned into the security sector, where he has been employed in various roles including Security Team Leader, Driver Trainer, and Deputy Training Manager. In 2019, Paul was promoted to Training Manager for Al Murabit Security Services. Paul holds training qualifications that include Highfields Level 3 Award in Education and Training (RQF), RoSPA National Diploma in Advanced Driving Instruction, RoSPA Diploma in Advanced Driving Instruction and is a RoSPA Gold Advanced Drive.

Philip Grey-Schumacher, HR Manager

Philip served over 25 years in the New Zealand Army with operational deployments to Afghanistan and East Timor. He has been working in the security industry in Iraq since 2011and as the HR Manager for Al-Murabit Security Services since 2013.

Maral, Deputy HR Manager

Maral joined Al Murabit Security Services in 2016 as an HR officer. During her employment, Maral has progressed into the Deputy HR Manager position. Responsible for management oversight of HR processes and procedures, Maral reports to senior management, providing comprehensive administrative support to day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department.
